All wine
improves and changes during the aging process, but care must be taken to
ensure that your wine is property stored, to ensure a quality product.
|

Immediately after bottling
After bottling, leave your wine standing up for several days before
placing it on its side in a rack. This will let any Co2 that might be
remaining escape prior to your long-term storage. |
|
Temperature
Store your wine in
a cool, dark, dry place. A constant temperature between 48 and 60
degrees is ideal. However, it is better to have a consistent temperature
of, say 68 degrees, than fluctuating cooler temperatures. |

Storage
The bottles should
be placed in a rack, or can also be piled on top of each other, but you
must ensure that each bottle is at a natural flat level that will keep
the corks moist. Vibration can be damaging to your wine. Rough handling,
running up and down stairs that have wine stored under them, storage
near any appliance that runs on and off, i.e. furnace, freezers, water
softener. All these things can damage wine by affecting the taste and
appearance of your wine. |
